Monday June 19 – Night Snorkel
The crew had a nice dinner back at base and after a short rest we packed up for a night snorkel. We drove to a protected cove near Bahia Honda State Park and got in the water. Our snorkel was briefly interrupted because we lacked a dive marker but as soon as we had one we were back in the water.
The night snorkel was great fun. Thousands of tiny fingerling fish would gather around us and our lights. You would have to move the fish out of the way as you snorkeled.
The night snorkel was also great for seeing lots of crabs moving on the coral.
The night snorkel was topped off by a distant thunder storm that provided quite a light show in the sky on the horizon. While directly above us, the stars and constellations shined in blazing glory.
