Letters for Eagle Scout Zach in the Army

You still have time to write letters to Eagle Scout Zach who is in the army!  I will mail him another envelope of letters next week, so write them and bring them to next week's meeting, which will be held at the Diocesan Pastoral Center at 6pm. We will be welcoming our newest scouts, so be prepared to show them what Troop 1 is all about!

Court of Honor tonight!

Court of Honor is this afternoon at Bagley Hall!  It is our Spring Court of Honor and we share desserts.  (For those who object to dessert right before dinner, feel free to bring an appetizer instead)

Set up is 3:00 pm and we hope to begin at 3:30.  We will award our scouts with rank advancements and merit badges.  In addition, we have a special treat, Patrick Arndt's Eagle Court of Honor.

Please come!  Bring your scout and your family to honor those scouts who have worked so hard.

Wear your uniform.  Adult Leaders who would like their picture taken next to the flag for the Facebook Leaders section, please wear your uniform shirt, or dress nicely.  I would like to include any leader in this section, not just those who have the uniform shirt.

See you this afternoon!

Kiwanis Annual Bike Rodeo - Service Time opportunity - help our Sponsor

Boy Scouts, put this fun event on your calendar: The Kiwanis annual Bike Rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th - 9 am to 1 pm, at the airport - hangar area on the right, just inside the main airport entrance. Troop 1 has helped with this rodeo in the past. Scouts have helped with the bicycle safety inspection and "tune ups" and have worked at the stations on the riding course we set up. It's good opportunity for some community service hours and lunch is provided.

Online Leader Training

Leader Training: If you are a parent or committee member and have not yet taken training, here is a website online that you can do some training and it will keep track of your accomplishments for you.
Create a login on:  myscouting.org
Choose Training, E-Learning. Print the certificates, or take a picture of it with your phone so that you have proof that you've taken the class.  (I find that the record keeping online is not perfect!)

Additionally, if you are a new Webelos parent and are hoping to be selected to attend as a chaperone at summer camp, I urge you to consider taking the Outdoor Leader Training on April 24, 25, and 26 so that you can learn how the leadership in Boy Scout Camp works.  It is different than Cub Scout camp.
