Polar Bear update Clarification...

For those going to the Polar Bear it will now be held at Dr. Mark Hauswirth's home on Saturday March 3 at 2:00 pm. Please contact Dameon Metzger or Chad Spyhalski for more information, or leave a message here. This counts as one camping night. Meal is already planned. You can make a shelter or bring a tent to sleep in, or sleep with a buddy to keep warm. Bring dry clothes to sleep in, bring extra socks, a warm stocking hat, extra gloves and a warm sleeping bag. Temperature will be in the 20's.

Just to clarify we will be having hobo packets for dinner, hamburger, onion, potatoes carrots in aluminum foil cooked in the fire pit. Breakfast will be cereal or instant oatmeal. Arrive at 2 on Saturday leave at Noon on Sunday. We will only be doing dinner and breakfast. Please eat lunch on Saturday before arriving at Dr. Hauswirth's.

To get to Dr. Hauswirth's:
First, it's the same place as the Campoween and the summer campout. If you were not at either of those events, these are the directions

Take M-32 west toward Elmira. After the 4 lane passing section, turn right on Hallock Rd. After approximately 3/4 of a mile, turn left on Parmater Rd. We are the second driveway on the left, right before the seasonal road sign.

For those who prefer to plug an address into a GPS, my address is 5175 Parmater Rd, Gaylord. Just make sure it takes you west, not east. If it says East, try using Elmira as the town instead of Gaylord.

Always bring your scout handbook to meetings!

Reminder that scouts always bring their books to scout meetings. This Wednesday I want to remind scouts to turn their books in to our Advancement Chair Wanda to record camping nights, service and rank advancements. Keep your scout book updated!

Headlands

Headlands trip at the Dark Sky Park in Mackinaw City departs on Friday! Both scouts and parents of the scout who is planning to go to Headlands need to attend Wednesday’s meeting. It will be dedicated to meal planning for Headlands. Please do not drop your scout and leave because we need for you to hear information and the meeting will likely be shorter than usual.
Scoutmaster Julia is sick and will not attend. Jeremy is in charge. Details will be given at the meeting.

Sign up to volunteer at lockin

Reminder!  Parents please sign up to volunteer at the 22nd Annual Gaylord Sportsplex Lock-in hosted by Troop 1!  All Troop 1 families must volunteer that evening for our lock-in to be successful!  We have jobs that go throughout the night, plus clean up in the morning.  If you can't stay the entire night, there are ways to help, like coming early (4am) and helping with the cleanup.  I'm too tired to clean by then and we need someone fresh and happy to help at 4am!  This event is 22 years strong, but we need you to pull it off without a hitch.  We expect between 375-475 scouts and leaders in attendance.  Follow the link to sign up or contact me if you are unable to sign up electronically.
