I've mailed the merit badges schedules for your scout.

If you did not receive an email with an attachment containing a list of merit badges that your scout signed up for at camp, then I might not have an accurate email address for you. Leave a message at Troop1.gaylord@gmail.com

I have not yet mailed a list to the parents of Kellen and am unsure about Christian's email address.

Thanks.

Cole Canoe Base, Summer Camp July 20-26, 2014

Summer camp is one month away!  Are you prepared (or is your scout prepared)? Your scout should have completed his physical for camp, he should be working on the prerequisites for the merit badges that he selected, and he should be thinking about what to pack for camp so he has everything he needs.  Don't wait until the last minute!

We will leave on Sunday, July 20th.  Time to be announced. We will return on Saturday, July 26.
We are taking 21 scouts and 4 adults.  We will most likely need driver(s) to take boys to camp and pick them up from camp.

Is it your scouts first year at camp?  Wonder what he'll be doing?  First Year Camper Schedule:

THANK YOU for the help with the Air Show

Troop 1 wants to say a big THANK YOU to all the scouts and parents who participated in the air show this weekend. Your dedication to scouting was enormous, and your help with our service project of parking and our fundraiser Bungee Jump was above and beyond.

On a personal note, I am most grateful to be leading a troop with such dedicated parents and leaders. Thank God for you!  Thank you for the help getting camp broken down, for the help with setup and tear down of the bounce house and bungee, for working the bungee (and some even helping in the bounce house although boy scouts weren't committed to do that) and for the help parking. Thank you Jeff and Eric for running the merit badges. Thank you to Ken for all his support to me personally.  Thank you all for keeping an eye on the boys.  It was nice to have so many parents at a camp out.  I'm really looking forward to summer camp.

Air Show pass for those adults without a Class A Shirt

Parents: in regards to the Airshow, if you are planning on volunteering to work at the air show parking, or bungee jump or helping out in camp, and you don't have a Class A scout shirt to wear, you can stop at Ken's office on McCoy road and pick up an Air Show pass to help get you in the airshow without cost.  If you have a scout shirt (Class A) you won't need a pass.

Wings Over Gaylord Air Show weekend!

It's here! Wings Over Gaylord Air Show weekend!   Scouts, be at the airport by 7:00 pm on Friday evening.  We will not serve dinner, so eat before you come!  Feel free to bring your own tent if you like.  Make sure you bring your Class A shirt, sunscreen and a water bottle.  Plan on it being a warm weekend.  Be prepared to work hard, have fun and represent Troop 1 scouts well.

Wings Over Gaylord Airshow, June 13-15.

June 13-15 is the annual camp out at the airport to enjoy Wings Over Gaylord for free! In return, the Boy Scouts assist in the parking lot to park cars. New this year is a request for adults (scouting parents and leaders) to help harness children to ride the Bungee Jump. A part of the proceeds will go back to Troop 1 to support our troop (camp, merit badges, wards, administration, etc) For this endeavor to be a success we need all available parents to sign up at the designated times to help out. Please review the spreadsheet for all times slots where we need help. Some leaders have signed up for a full day of work. But they will need a lunch break, so the more help we have the better. Thank you!

Also, make sure that your child signs up for the Air show camp out this Wednesday at the meeting. There are 2 merit badges available, Aviation and Home Repair. But to do these merit badges you must complete pre-requisites and sign up for the class. Make sure that you check this out at Wednesday's meeting.

Wings Over Gaylord

Parent Sign up: Please, please consider signing up for a shift to help us out.  A percentage of the proceeds from the Bungee Jump go to Troop 1.
