Our Court of Honor is Sunday, Oct 22 at 4:00 pm at Bagley Hall. Any merit badges or ranks that scouts want to be awarded must be completed and information given to our Advancement Chair Wanda Philippy by October 18. She must have time to enter data, order awards and prepare them for the Court of Honor.

The Court of Honor will be a dinner followed by awards. The potluck sign up will be created shortly.

Membership changes from Council

Scoutmaster received an email from council and below are the high points.

The National BSA membership fee will increase to $33 for all registered youth and adult leaders beginning December 1, 2017. At this time, the Troop pays the fee for it's leaders, but the youth membership fees are charged to each scout each year.
Additionally, effective September 1, 2017, Youth Protection Training is required for all leaders at the time of registration. Registrations will not be processed without a YPT Certificate of Completion. If you are a leader or would like to be, please log in to my.scouting.org and verify if your youth protection is current.

An important change for Leaders attending Summer Camp is also being made. Effective for the 2018 BSA summer camp season, any adult accompanying a Boy Scout troop to a residence camp or other Scouting activity lasting 72 hours or more must be registered as a leader, including completion of a CBC (Criminal Background Check), and YPT, even if they are the parent of a youth on the trip.

Attached is the document from BSA, outlining the above changes.
