Young Eagles Flight

By Donald P.

One of the highlights of summer was on June 24, 2006 when I was able to fly in a Cessna 170B. This was part of a Young Eagles program to give us a chance to see if piloting would be something of interest for me in the future.

The flight was awesome. We went really high and everything was measured in knots. First we went up and then he showed us how to turn. I never knew there were foot pedals in a plane. I did get to fly a little and he said I did a good job. There were many gauges and knobs inside the plane.

It was a great experience and I hope every scout takes advantage next year.
