Troop 1 Current Events

Summer Camp!  Camperships have been submitted and are being reviewed by council now to be allocated to scouts in need.  Make sure that if you requested a campership that your scout is registered for camp ASAP. In two weeks camperships will be announced.

Mark your Calendar! Court of Honor is April 23, next Wednesday at 7:00 pm.  Please bring a snack or a dessert to share.  We will serve canned soda (leftover from the lock-in), and probably serve coffee. Parents and family, come to support your scout!

Don't forget that Saturday April 26 is the pickup date for the canned food drive.  Please return to the houses that you left the flyers and pick up the canned goods that are left on the door step.  Do not knock on doors.  Then please deliver your non-perishable foods to the food pantry at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.  We will stack up the food we collect and take a group photo.  Then scouts please join us from 4-6 pm for bowling and pizza at the Gaylord Bowling alley.  Scouts who participated in the Food drive will bowl for free. Parents be sure to pick up your scout at 6:00 pm.

The Bagley Township hall is not available for a meeting on April 30.  We will have to get back to you on what our alternate plans for a meeting location will be.

Court of Honor April - need scouts to volunteer to put together the program

Scouts, Mrs. B still needs someone to help plan the Court of Honor which is scheduled for April 23.  ASAP!  Planning a Court of Honor is one of the requirements for the Communications Merit badge which is Eagle required.  We need a power point presentation and a program (to hand out).  Mrs. B has photos to use and will be glad to meet you at the library or you and a parent can come over to her home to work on it. Please contact her as soon as possible.

You will be back to pick up the bags of food on Saturday, April 26, after which we will go bowling for a couple hours.

Final Instructions for Merit Badge Tech on March 15

Final Instructions for Merit Badge Tech on March 15

We are just a week away from welcoming all of you to Merit Badge Tech and Traverse City.  We have some final event reminders for you.  If you have registered several Scouts please make sure this information gets disseminated appropriately.  We will hold this event regardless of weather, so plan to join us.

**Only those Scouts who have not paid need to check in at registration. All others can proceed to their first classroom after the flag ceremony and announcements**.  Attached you will find a list of classes and classroom numbers.

Here are our do's and don'ts:

Do wear your Class A uniform.
Do come with your worksheets and prerequisites completed.
Do make sure you have appropriate clothing for the class you are taking.
Do bring a nonperishable food item for the food drive.
Do make sure you have transportation to the Coast Guard base (Search and Rescue) or Fire Station (Fire Safety) as we will not be providing transportation. (if you are taking that merit badge)

Do Not bring blue cards.  We don't use them at this event.  Your unit will get a report with completed requirements and your Troop advancements person will complete the blue cards.

Do Not eat anywhere other than the designated lunch rooms/areas.  The Career Tech Center allows us to use this building and we need to keep it clean and undamaged.  No food or drinks in the classrooms, please.

Please contact Deb Lannen, 231.360.7691,
