Wednesday night meeting

Reminder that our District Rep John Gower will be at our meeting tonight.  All scouts should dress neatly in their uniform.  Committee members and parents who want to meet with John at 6:00 P.M. feel welcome to come.

Wednesday night meeting

On Wednesday night, be sure to wear your uniform (as you always should).  We will have a visitor from the District.  All scouts should be on best behavior, and be ready to greet our district representative.  Also, be prepared for the scout elections!  Think about what position you would like to have for the next 6 months!  See you Wednesday night!

Reminder for tonight at 3:15 Probate Court for rank and merit badge

Reminder:  Today March 26th at 3:15PM Troop 1 will meet at Probate Court chambers.  The scouts will observe court operations and at the conclusion of court, Judge Mike Cooper will explain and discuss
the roll of the courts in a constitutional government.  This event will qualify for attendance at a public meeting for class rank up and also for the communications merit badge.

Bring your book and we will see you there.

Note:  The court room is on the back side of the Alpine Center.  If you enter from the round about, come down to the right  the signs for the probate court (Not the District Court).  Do not go all the way to the street that runs behind the high school or you have gone too far.  Scoutmaster's red vehicle will be there.  Come in the doors at the corner of the building and turn right—go to the end and enter that court room.

Remember to be quiet and not jump around and fidget.

Headlands Trip 2013 Leaving tomorrow! Friday!

Reminder: Leaving for Headlands in Mackinaw City tomorrow evening (Friday) at 5:30 p.m. from Bagley Township Hall.  We will be returning on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bagley Township Hall.

We still need a driver(s)!   We have two chaperones (Ken Arndt and Tony Zelkowski)  We would prefer one additional chaperone to stay for the weekend.  We do have a volunteer for Friday to drive boys up there and drop them off.  But if there is a person who is willing to drive and stay, that would be great too. We will need a driver to go back and pick boys up on Sunday.  A car to fit 5 boys.

Please read the attached form for details, and bring a completed permission slip for your scouts.

Scouts can bring video game systems, a small tv and whatever board games that they want to play.

Scout Sunday and a scout's Duty to God

Last weekend boy scouts from all over participated in Scout Sunday including scouts from Cub Scout Pack 1 and Boy Scouts from Troop1.  Scouts and their families attended Gaylord Evangelical Free Church, and St Mary Cathedral for Sunday morning services.

If your son would like to earn his religious emblem square knot, Assistant Scoutmaster Eric Clink is the counselor for God and Church For Protestant and Independent Christian Churches grades 6-8.  Classes will be 3:00 to 5:00 Sundays located at E-Free Church M32 east.  Contact Eric Clink  for more information 231-675-2220  clink1906@gmail.com

For Catholic Religious awards  you can contact Julia Bushong at the Diocese of Gaylord (989-732-5147) to obtain the appropriate book.  The catholic awards consist of a workbook to be completed by the scout with the participation of his family and  generally concludes with a small project.
