Boy Scouts! Summer camp is 20 days away! I hope that you are working on your merit badge pre-requisites before camp. Print your merit badge worksheets. Some merit badges require that work is done before you come to camp or that you bring supplies or money to camp to complete the badge. Check out the pre-requisites here for your merit badges. Blue cards will be passed out at camp.

Make sure that you have gotten your Physicals completed. Scoutmaster needs 2 copies of your health forms and copy of insurance card. One copy goes to camp and they keep it and the other copy is for me to keep for activities throughout the year. Keep a copy for yourself, too!
Check out Cole Canoe base's website for more information.

Please consider helping Ben with his Eagle Project. It is in 3 parts. The first part is to sell drinks at the Art in the Garden Festival, this Saturday June 27, from 10am-7pm.
The second part will be to clear the land in the upcoming weeks and then to build the project when he is ready.

The Wings Over Gaylord Air Show is this weekend! Scouts that are camping should arrive between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. You will see the scouts campsite through the fence and you need to go to the gate to the west of the campsite to be let in. Eric will be watching the gates between that time, or arrange a different time with him. Because the scouts/parents will be taking a shift working in the parking lot (in exchange for the free entrance into the airshow) don't forget your water bottle, sunblock, hat, and camping chair. Scoutmaster will be in Traverse City Friday night for the NYLT ceremony for the scouts attending NYLT. Don't forget that Saturday approx 5:00 pm is Aaron Smith's Eagle Court of Honor! Feel free to bring him a card to congratulate him for his hard work. (in the event of rain we may have to move the Court of Honor to Bagley or somewhere inside.)

Important note regarding paperwork for Summer Camp:
Parents-when I get to camp I have to leave the health forms with Cole Canoe Base. So that means that I will need 2 copies of the part ABC health form and insurance cards: one for summer camp and one for me to keep for the activities and camp outs for the remainder of the year. If you are unable to make copies, please drop it by my office at the Diocese of Gaylord so that I can make the copies before camp. It is in your best interest to retain a copy for yourself just in case. (Because I am not perfect!)

Don't forget, free physicals at 7:00 pm at Bagley hall for Boy Scout Troop 1 on Thursday, June 11. Ken Arndt will be there and Jeremy Savoie to supervise the process. Two doctors will be present. While you are waiting, Committee Chair Ken Arndt will pass out the updated handbook and will spend time with any parents who have questions regarding scouting including earning merit badges, rank advancement, summer camp etc. Bring your Part ABC form with s much filled out as you can for the sake of time. The doctor only needs to fill out page C, and you fill out the rest.

The Committee Meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) will be postponed because I didn't remember that Austin Detgen's graduation party is that day and during that time. Many scouters will want to attend his party. Austin's open house is Sunday June 7 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Otsego County Park. The committee meeting with either be rescheduled or postponed until July. If there is any pressing business please email me at troop1.gaylord@gmail.com . Thanks.
