Spring Camporee this weekend!

Whose coming to the Spring Camporee this upcoming weekend? April 29,30 and May 1. Today would be a good time to get your equipment ready. If you haven't camped yet this year, then you will need to locate your sleeping bag, mess kit, flashlight and all the other items you need for a successful campout. Please meet at Bagley Hall about 5:15 on Friday and be prepared to leave by 5:30. I need one more adult to chaperone and pull the troop trailer.

18 NO EVENING MEETING: Summer Camp Swim checks! Take your swim test for camp early! Meet directly after school approx. 3-3:15 at the Sportsplex instead of the evening meeting. Determine if you are a BSA swimmer, beginner or non-swimmer. Then have some fun with open swim and will have pizza after. Parents can pick up scouts about 5pm.
21 SERVICE TIME: Saturday, Kiwanis Bike Rodeo at the fairgrounds 9am-1pm
21,22 SERVICE TIME: Austin Sharkey’s Eagle Project at the VFW
25 First Aid merit badge completion.

Upcoming Schedule...

Tonight!  Recognition Dinner  6:00 show-up, 6:30 dinner, 7:00 program.  Petoskey high school cafeteria, $5.00 per person, $10.00 per family.  Bring a dish to pass. Meat, drinks, table service provided.  Come to honor those being recognized for their good work in scouting!
 
Committee Meeting Sunday, April 17!  Bagley hall, 6pm scouts in leadership positions to plan activities, and 7pm adult meeting (leaders, parents, committee members)
 
Webelos Crossover, Wednesday April 20 at 6pm at Gaylord Intermediate School.  I need 6 or so boy scouts in Class A uniform to show up to welcome the new webelos.  Please let Scoutmaster know if you are coming.

Court of Honor, Wednesday April 20  at 7pm.  This is a snack and dessert court of honor. 
 
Service Time opportunity! The members of the VFW are planning a fundraiser and they need some sandbags filled. Please bring a shovel and gloves and show up on Tuesday April 26th at 6pm on South Otsego near the corner of McCoy at the location with the big VFW sign. Wear your class B shirt if you can so that a picture can be taken.Many new scouts need service time, and also need to participate in a minimum number of activities outside of the meeting to rank up. So come and lend a hand!
 
Spring Camporee April 29,20 and May 1 in Pellston.  I need a couple more adults to drive and camp and I need someone to pull the troop trailer.

Scout meeting and Sunday Committee Meeting

I hope you had a great spring break! 
 
Reminder that this week's meeting is Spring Elections for Positions of Responsibility. There is also a Committee meeting on Sunday at Bagley for the scouts in leadership positions at 6:00 pm and the parents, leaders and committee members at 7:00 pm. We welcome all adults to attend the committee meeting at 7:00 pm. 
 
April 20 is the dessert Court of Honor at 7pm at Bagley. Please come to recognize the scouts who have achieved rank advancements and earned merit badges. Please bring a dessert or snack to share.

Mark this on your calendar: May 18 Summer Camp Swim checks!

Take your swim test for camp early! Meet directly after school approx. 3-3:15 at the Sportsplex instead of the evening meeting. Determine if you are a BSA swimmer, beginner or non-swimmer. Then have some fun with open swim and will have pizza after. Parents can pick up scouts about 5pm.
If you can't make this time, you can go anytime to the Sportsplex to do your test when water Instructor Michele is available. No evening meeting on May 18.
