Rank requirement changes as of 2016

Here's some light reading for you....

In 2016 there will be some upcoming changes to scout ranks.  It is important for everyone to take a look at the ranks that will directly affect them or their scout.

The important thing to remember is 2016 Transition rules:

Boys joining on or after Jan. 1, 2016, MUST use the new requirements.
Boys who are working on Tenderfoot through First Class MAY continue to work using the previous requirements, but MUST convert to the new requirements upon attaining First Class.
Boys who have completed First Class MAY complete the rank they are currently working on using the previous requirements, but then MUST convert to the new requirements for subsequent ranks.
After 2016:
All Scouts MUST use the new requirements for all ranks.

For information on specific ranks, see link below:
http://usscouts.org/advance/boyscout/2016/bsranks.asp

Specifically new Scout rank requirements as of January 2016

For our upcoming Eagles, please read Eagle Rank Requirements as of January 2016

Important stuff everyone, please read!  Don't let a surprise requirement prevent you or your scout from advancing in rank.

A secret ingredient will be announced shortly.  Patrols will be expected to create one entry for the contest together. A list of ingredients will need to be given to scoutmaster to purchase ahead of time.  Desserts and wild game dishes always go over well. More information to come.

Last Minute Fun! Jordon Fish Hatchery Milkweed seed pod collecting

Last Minute Fun!  Jordon Fish Hatchery Milkweed seed pod collecting
Monday, October 12
Leave after school:
Pickup at GIS (Mr. Reynolds) or High School (Mrs. Bushong)
Return to Bagley 6:00pm ish

You must inform Mr. Reynolds or Scoutmaster Mrs. Bushong ahead of time if you plan to attend because we must arrange enough transportation.
Scouts will assist in harvesting the seeds, especially milkweed. The hatchery has a pollinator garden that is used for public education and as a seed source for native plants. These seeds will be used on the facility next summer to plant additional native plant gardens. This is a great learning experience for the scouts and may give them insights into some of the challenges faced by our native pollinators, (bee's, butterflies, moths, etc.)

Jordon National Fish Hatchery
6623 Turner Rd, Elmira, MI 49730

They are located ~ 3 miles south of the M32/Hwy 131 intersection. Look for brown sign and turn West (left).

Please bring a sign permission slip for the Fish Hatchery as shown.
