New Health and Trip Permission Forms

Scenic Trails Council has sent Troop 1 a new standardized Health and Trip Permission Form. The new forms are an effort to standardize the forms and information Troops request for outings. Use if the new forms becomes mandatory in 2010, earlier adoption is encouraged.

We would like to try the new forms for our upcoming Agnes S. Andreae Nature Preserve outing. A link to the form is included below and hard copies will be available at Troop Meetings. The forms are currently in a Portable Document Format (pdf) and require the free Adobe Reader to open and print. http://troop1.gaylord.googlepages.com/NewHealthForm2009.pdf

Portable Document Format (PDF) is a method of electronic distribution of publications created by Adobe Systems Inc. PDF files are compact and can be viewed or printed on any platform supported by the Adobe Reader.

This Week in Troop 1 Gaylord

This Week in Troop 1 Gaylord

Klondike Derby. We cancelled Troop 1’s participation in the derby this year. Part of our problem is competing activities and boys being sick and part of our problem is that we just didn’t get the equipment in place in time to make this a fun trip. Better time next year.

Woodcarvers are on for Tuesday night the 10th at the Masonic Lodge on South Otsego just south of Peace Lutheran Church. Those of you who carved your project must show it to the group and there will be an additional session of sharpening. If you are starting new, you can begin your session Tuesday. You do not have to come to two sessions to achieve the merit badge but if you wish to earn it I will fill out a card for you Tuesday night at 6:30.

Andrae’s Cabin (Pigeon River). This event is firm for the 27-29 February time frame. We will depart on Friday evening and return Sunday morning. Wood heat and an outhouse. Plan to attend—this has the makings of the Headlands with an outhouse.

If you are interested in National Youth Leadership Training the week after our summer camp, please contact me as soon as possible. The date has been moved up to the week of June 28th not August now.

We will apply for Seabase dates in 2010 by 15 February.
